Are you stuck staring at the beautiful Dualshock 4 and Killzone 4 combo like so many others are?
Do you wish you could make use of them as something other than decoration or coasters for the next two weeks?
Don’t worry I was in your spot and I have a solution that will help you make use of at least the Dualshock 4 controller… assuming you have a PlayStation 3 (I’ve also heard this works with a PC).
What you do need though is a wire that Sony does not provide you with until the PlayStation 4 comes out. Lucky for most people this wire is a microUSB wire. Most people have at least one of these laying around their household as in simpler terms it is the same wire that you use to charge most android devices, ranging from the Samsung Galaxy, other android phones and most tablets (like an Amazon Kindle).
Once you have the MicroUSB wire do the following and enjoy your Dualshock 4:
- Unbox the controller.
- Plug the microUSB wire into the port on the top of the controller.
- Plug the other end into the PlayStation console.
- Turn on the console via the power button on the console, as the PlayStation button on the Dualshock 4 will not respond when used with the PlayStation 3.
- Enjoy making use of your Dualshock 4!
The controller must stay wired to the PS3 in order to keep using it. The Dualshock 4 will not have full functionality as the share button is now acting as the select button for the PS3 also the touchpad and playstation button have no functionality.
